Personal branding portrait session by DH Photography Victoria BC

Working with Dom

Dom works best with brands, organizations and individuals who mean what they say — those where sustainability, community, or social impact isn't a marketing afterthought but a core part of who they are.

He brings the same intentionality to every project: from the initial conversation through to final delivery, you'll work directly with Dom.

Based in Victoria, Canada, he works with clients globally — equally at home embedded within a team of seasoned professionals or operating solo in the field. His background across various industries, and in remote high-pressure environments has made him adaptable, self-sufficient, and calm under pressure, and he has a particular affinity for locations and conditions that others tend to avoid.

If your work matters to you, it'll matter to him.

About Dom

Originally from New Zealand, Dominic has spent the better part of two decades living and working around the world — as both a chef and photographer. He has lived in Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, and spent three years stationed in Antarctica.

His ethos and driving force has always been to use his skills for the greater good, which is why he partners with brands who choose to leave a positive footprint on the world. With three summers and one winter in Antarctica, Dom witnessed climate change at ground zero — increased summer melt, ocean acidification, and a decline in seabird populations — and it gave him a drive to do more.

Now based in Victoria, Canada, Dom works across commercial hospitality and portrait photography while remaining committed to social and environmental work. He seeks out partnerships with those who share his passion for nature, the environment, and shining a light on the issues we all face.

Dom is a passionate idealist, committed to fighting for the planet and the greater good of humanity — hoping to leave the world a better place for his son and future generations.
